Cockermouth Christmas Markets
On the 8th and 9th of December, the picturesque town of Cockermouth will play host to the Taste Cumbria Christmas markets featuring the best of local food, produce and entertainment. Stroll along the Georgian streets and browse the stalls or take in the live entertainment - there’s something for everyone to enjoy, with a fairground and festive arts and crafts for the kids and a beer and fizz tent to keep the adults feeling merry.
Lowther Castle at Christmas
Whether you still have Christmas shopping to do or you simply want to enjoy the beautiful frosty grounds of the castle, Lowther has a range of events this Christmas season. Visit their Christmas markets to experience the festive cheer of a market amidst stunning castle ruins, with live music, gin-tasting and gift wrapping, on the 3rd, 10th and 17th December. For the little ones, Lowther have laid a Winter Trail through the castle and gardens featuring gingerbread man clues - for those that reach the end, a real, tasty gingerbread man awaits as a prize.
Keswick Victorian Fayre
For something a bit different, on Sunday 3rd December, Keswick is holding it’s own charity Christmas market featuring a Victorian theme. Santa and Mrs Claus will arrive in a sleigh drawn by reindeer in the afternoon and there will be a stage featuring live entertainment throughout the day. All the stalls will be run by charities, making this a great way to participate in giving this Christmas season.
