We are happy to declare that the gates to our beautiful secluded beer garden are now open!
There are few beer gardens in Cumbria and the Lakes that are as secluded, or as pretty as ours (even if we do say so ourselves!). For idyllic Summer evenings, it really does provide the perfect spot for eating, drinking and relaxing.
The vast green space is tucked behind us, away from roads and traffic, nestled at the foot of Sale Fell. Our secret garden features tables and benches dotted around a lush manicured lawn with vibrant perennials flowering all season and a canopy of ancient trees shading from the summer sun.
Part cultivated, part wild and natural, the garden is a magnet for our local wildlife with red squirrels often spotted in quiet moments. You are welcome to bring your dogs to enjoy the space too, along with four of our lovely bedrooms should you wish to turn a beer garden meal into a beer garden break.
We proudly champion local produce and have hand-picked a range of Cumbrian beers and spirits to enjoy, ideal for Summer evenings. Real ales Loweswater Gold, Coniston Bluebird and Hawkeshead Bitter are all on draught in our bar, alongside Lakeland lager and gin from Bedrock and the nearby Lakes Distillery.
You are welcome to enjoy our beer garden at all times of the day; with a coffee in the morning, taking lunch from our hearty bar menu outdoors and with drinks as the sun goes down on a day’s fell walking.
Let’s just keep our fingers crossed for some idyllic Summer weather to go with our idyllic gardens!
