First up, an apology… for those who regularly follow this blog (and yes, we know you’re out there!), we’re sorry we’ve been so quiet recently.
But don’t worry, we’re back now and we bring you some exciting news from the kitchen.
Yes, it’s reached that time of year when our head chef, Jonathan, working with some great local suppliers and using the very best of the Lake District’s seasonal ingredients, has created mouthwatering new summer menus.
Served in both our Fell Restaurant and the Bistro, there’s a new summer lunch menu featuring a lighter choice of tasty salads, sandwiches and sharing platters. The colourful Greek Salad with marinated feta cheese, baby plum tomatoes, cucumber, red onion and olives is surely just the perfect option to be enjoyed al fresco in our stunning gardens. Picture the scene… sun shining, glass of prosecco in hand, joyous chatter of birdsong, and some good food… what could be better?
Our regular local diners will be pleased to see the summer makeover we’ve given to our classic Pheasant dishes and Fish dishes. Catering for all dietary needs, two of our particular favourites are the Braised Lamb Shoulder with dauphinoise potatoes, minted broad beans and light lamb jus, and Grilled Whole Plaice with prawn & caper butter, new season potatoes and buttered greens. And here’s the best news for any coeliac’s, both are gluten free!
We’re still offering our great value fixed price lunch and dinner menus for just £18.95 for two courses and £22.95 for three courses. Lunch is available Monday – Saturday from 12 noon- 2.30pm and dinner every weekday plus Sunday evenings between 6pm-7pm. Let’s skip to the important course where you can choose between Lemon Panna Cotta, Vanilla Cheesecake or Raspberry & Sorrel Sorbet for that scrumptious pudding!
Our relaxed Bistro serves food daily between 12noon-2.30pm and 6pm- 9pm and our more formal Fell Restaurant is open Tuesday-Saturday evenings between 6.30pm-9pm and for Sunday lunch between 12noon- 2pm.
