Now in its 5th year, the festival has established itself as one of Cumbria’s leading events and a highlight of the foodie calendar.

The back-bone of any good food festival is the chance to wonder round and sample different food stalls. Cockermouth’s Main Street will be transformed into a bustling market showcasing the best of Cumbrian produce including cheese, sausages, baked goods, fish, ice-cream and much more,
If you need some culinary inspiration or just love to watch the experts, then the marquee on Main Street is the place to head to. Free demonstrations from top local chefs and producers will be on from 10am – 4pm each day with tips on everything from meat and fish to tea and coffee.
2014 finalist of the Great British Bake Off, Richard Burr will be giving a masterclass in making Biscotti and challah rolls as well as signing his new cookery book. With his trademark pencil behind his ear, this builder wowed the judges and the nation with his cakes, pies and pastries and won Star Baker accolade an amazing five times during the show.
It’s not all about the food as Taste Cumbria has plenty of drinks on offer as the perfect accompaniment to all that food. The Lakes Distillery are offering gin tasting with their ambassador British ski sensation Chemmy Alcott as well as a whisky masterclass whilst Moo! Bars are bringing together more than 40 Cumbrian beers at the town’s Jennings Brewery.
Simon Rogan, chef from the two Michelin starred restaurant L’Enclume will be hosting a pop up restaurant at a secret location on the outskirts of Cockermouth. Lunche is available each day at 1pm, and to add to the intrigue guests will be bused to a secret location from the festival car-park without knowing where they will end up!
